How to manage stress and anxiety.
In our busy lives we continuously have to cope with varying levels of stress and anxiety. To be fair stress and anxiety are valid components in our emotional landscape but sometimes the intensity can be too much and then we can feel disempowered to be the best that we can be. Here is one way to reduce stress and anxiety…
In a recent counselling session I introduced a technique to my client that could possibly be a strategy for reducing their high levels of stress and anxiety.
Without breaking confidentiality, when the client tried the strategy they were surprised by the fact that they were able to quieten their mind and enjoy moments of relaxation.
We all need moments of relaxation right?
The technique I introduced is called ‘Mindfulness’ and it is a technique that one can use on their own to conjure up feelings of relaxation and, to put it simply, calm the mind and give it a well earned rest.
The video below from Andy Puddicombe from Headspace in his TED talk explains how important it is to take ten minutes a day to relax and give the brain a rest.
